Restoring the Breach, Inc. to host Career Development Week November 10-14 at the Statesboro-Bulloch County Library

Restoring the Breach, Inc. is set to host its annual Career Development Week from November 10th to 14th at the Statesboro-Bulloch County Library, offering free workshops to help job seekers gain valuable skills. Courses include Professional Communication, Professional Dress, Resume Writing, Interview Skills, and Professional Networking.

Restoring the Breach, Inc., a local nonprofit dedicated to empowering individuals through community education, is proud to announce its upcoming Career Development Week, taking place November 10th through 14th at the Statesboro-Bulloch County Library (124 S. Main Street, Statesboro).

This free week-long event is designed to help job seekers sharpen their skills, boost their confidence, and prepare for the upcoming Community Job Fair on Saturday, November 15th. Each day will feature engaging, hands-on sessions led by local professionals and career experts:

  • Monday, November 10th from 5:45 to 6:45 pm : Professional Communication (instructed by Franklin Collins, Higher Education Educator and Author) — Learn how to speak and write with confidence in the workplace.

  • Tuesday, November 11th from 5:45 to 6:45 pm: Professional Dress (instructed by Dee Pinckney, Owner of TrenDee Collection Boutique) — Discover how to make a great first impression through your appearance.

  • Wednesday, November 12th from 5:45 to 6:45 pm: Resume Writing (instructed by Dr. McKenzie Peterman, Associate Director of Career Development & Instruction at Georgia Southern University) — Create a resume that stands out to employers.

  • Thursday, November 13th from 5:45 pm to 6:45 pm: Interview Skills (instructed by Nicole Watkins of Worksource Coastal) — Practice effective techniques to excel during interviews.

  • Friday, November 14th from 4:45 pm to 5:45 pm: Professional Networking (instructed by Leanne Robinson, Dean for Academic Affairs at Ogeechee Technical College) — Build valuable connections that can open doors to career opportunities.

As a special bonus, attendees who participate in all five sessions will receive a free family-sized Thanksgiving box, which includes a turkey, sides, and beverages—just in time for the holiday season.

“We believe in equipping our community with the tools they need to succeed whether professionally or socially,” said LaShai Campbell, Executive Director of Restoring the Breach, Inc. “Career Development Week is not just about getting a job—it’s about building confidence, professionalism, and a path toward long-term success.”

The Community Job Fair will take place on Saturday, November 15th, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the library, giving participants the opportunity to connect directly with local employers and put their new skills to work.

Participation is free and open to all ages 16 and up.
