Rechner to Demo Variety of Sensors at ADM Toronto

Advanced Design & Manufacturing Toronto (ADM Toronto) is returning to the Toronto Congress Centre on October 21-23, 2025. The conference will highlight six sectors in Canada’s advanced manufacturing industry: design, automation, packaging, plastics, processing, and EV technology. The all-in-one event has evolved from a traditional manufacturing exhibition into an essential destination for supply-chain diversification and career building.

One of the hundreds of exhibitors expected to take part in ADM Toronto is sensor technology supplier Rechner Sensors. Here, Manager Benjamin Hooper details Rechner’s evolution of sensor technology offerings, and the critical need to increase productivity with equipment efficiency and automation.

Q. Please give us a brief overview of Rechner Sensors: its history and the products and services it offers.

A. Rechner Sensors is a global pioneer in sensor technology with nearly six decades of innovation. Founded in 1965 as Rechner Industrie-Electronik GmbH in Mannheim, Germany, the company quickly became a world leader, particularly in the field of capacitive sensing, where the name Rechner is often considered synonymous with the technology itself.

Over the years, Rechner has expanded its portfolio far beyond capacitive sensors to include:

  • Analog level measurement systems.

  • Ex-approved sensors for hazardous environments in Canada and the US.

  • Capacitive and inductive sensor for use in high-temperature environments (up to 250°C / 482°F).

  • Inductive, opto-electronic, calorimetric, and magneto-resistive sensors.

To better serve regional markets, Rechner has established a strong international presence in North America.

Rechner Automation Inc., established in 2010 in Canada, further expanded local capabilities with a knowledgeable sales team and in-house manufacturing of ETL-certified capacitive sensors.

Rechner Electronics Industries Inc. was founded in 1978 in the US and has provided custom-engineered sensor solutions for demanding North American applications for over 40 years.

Rechner Sensors is backed by deep engineering expertise and decades of application experience, making it a trusted partner in global automation.

Q. Can you tell us more about your geographic reach and distribution?

A. Rechner Sensors has a dozen offices across the world including North America, Europe, and Asia.

Rechner Automation, Inc. is based in Southern Ontario and serves customers across Canada alongside a few distributors.

Rechner Electronics Industries, Inc. is based in Sanborn, NY, and serves the US with a dozen distributors across the continent.

Q. Has Rechner attended the ADM conference before?

A. Yes. Rechner has been exhibiting at ADM conferences for more than 10 years.

Q. What equipment is Rechner demonstrating at ADM Toronto?

A. Rechner will be demonstrating a variety of capacitive and inductive sensors that are designed for a variety of applications. There will be 26-series sensors covered in sticky ketchup and chocolate and switching reliably!

There will also be several Ex-rated sensors for explosive atmospheres and an analog level system that automatically recalibrates itself for any material.

Q. What do you hope to see at the conference this year?

A. Rechner would like to see lots of manufacturers at the conference. Any manufacturers that process bulk powders, solids, or liquids and need level control solutions.

Q. What do you think is the most critical issue facing your industry today?

A. Increasing productivity. There is always pressure from competitors or lower wages overseas. Automating equipment, increasing equipment reliability, and increasing efficiency are key elements to the success of all companies.

Q. Is there anything else you would like to share about attending this year’s ADM Toronto conference?
