The Bowling Green City Schools Board of Education accepted more than$25,000 in gifts at its May meeting.

Gifts included:

$270 to Bobcat Basics from Peace Lutheran Church

$780 to BG High School from Glass City Federal Credit Union

$150 to BGHS Key Club from Bowling Green Kiwanis

$382.23 to Crim Elementary Playground from Falcon Nest, LLC (Buffalo Wild Wings)

$20 to Crim Elementary Playground from Julie Clauson

$100 to DECA International Career Development Conference from Barry & Susan Dibiasio

$250 to DECA International Career Development Conference from Bowling Green Title, Ltd.

$100 to DECA International Career Development Conference from Rieman Construction

$250 to DECA International Career Development Conference from Newlove Realty

$50 to DECA International Career Development Conference from The Sundae Station

The board also accepted:

Food/snacks valued at $300 for Bobcat Basics from Modern Woodmen Fraternal Financial

Shoes, snacks & toiletries valued at $300 for Bobcat Basics from First Christian Church

Shoes, food & hygiene products valued at $550 for Bobcat Basics from Mel Marie Skin Care

McDonalds breakfast cards valued at $7,850 for PBIS from McDonalds

“Downtown Dollars” valued at $2,500 for the BGCS PBIS Program from Leadership BG, Class of 2024

The total gifted was $26,857.23.

Also at the meeting, the board recognized a number of students for their success in music, DECA and FFA.

Robert Stygles was recognized for being chosen for the All-State Orchestra while Julia Barnett and Romy Nazario were honored for thier inclusion in the All-State Choir. Arianna Chung was recognized for being selected for the All-State Band.

International competition qualifiers in DECA include Jack Hover, Austin Lewis, Tessa Kirchner, Dylan Krupp and Liam Triggs.

Recognized for thier accomplishments at the recent FFa convention were Natalee Harris and Annie Urban for State FFA Degree recipients; Urban, Casey Naus and Clare Tussing as state Gold Rated officers; Grace O’Connell, eight place in State Job Interview Career Development Event (CDE); Aidan Thomas, Top 12 in State Public Speaking Career Development Event (CDE); and Emma Nester, Top 12 in State Public Speaking Career Development Event (CDE).

The board also approved a student trip to Greece from June 9-17, 2027 for high school and middle school students.

The advisors are Jo Beth Gonzalez and Heather Fallis.

Costs will be paid by the student with the possibility of some fundraising.
