The new tool is automatically available to customers on the AIQ3 tier (Enterprise), enabling finance teams to gain a broader view of the business beyond just finance.

The system tracks a wide array of metrics, including operational, employee, customer, and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria. According to AccountsIQ, it delivers a true 360-degree view of business performance.

Administrators can set up the required metrics and create dashboards that display these metrics alongside financial KPIs. Business leaders can therefore view financial and non-financial metrics alongside each other in a single dashboard.

For example, the dashboard allows SaaS firms to display metrics for Financial, Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success teams over a given period. Currently, the metrics are updated manually from a template file that AccountsIQ creates. Administrators can then upload the file to a specific period. The system will perform basic checks, including de-duplication. It isn’t clear whether AccountsIQ will look to automate the ingestion of any KPIs from other systems.

Once ingested, the data can be linked and displayed against financial KPIs that AccountsIQ already holds. The administrator can map the finance data against specific KPIs, ensuring that this data is kept up to date from information already held on the system.

Darren Cran, CEO of AccountsIQ, commented, “With Non-Financial Metrics, we’ve eliminated one of the biggest frustrations for finance teams: the need to piece together operational and financial data outside the system.

“Businesses can now see their full performance story – from revenue and costs to headcount, win ratios or occupancy – all in one place. This makes reporting faster, decision-making sharper, and strategic planning far more effective. It’s about giving finance teams the intelligence they need, when they need it, without adding complexity.”

Dashboards to tell a story

Not only can finance teams now see how the wider Business is performing at a glance, they can create dashboards that present trends to identify whether KPIs are falling or increasing. Each KPI can also show the current metric, a budget target and a variance against it, as well as the trend over previous periods.

There is no limit to the number or type of financial metrics that can be set up within AIQ. It means that whatever KPIs your Business requires, there is now an easy way to set up and view all metrics within a single screen using AIQ3. In addition, each dashboard supports enhanced reporting options, including a detailed period analysis. Should more detailed reports be required, the user can request them through the dashboard.

Some examples of metrics that could be tracked:

  • Technology Company: marketing qualified leads, win ratios or customer conversions, NPS
  • Hospitality Company, occupancy rates, departmental performance
  • HR-intensive businesses: payroll journals and headcount figures to better understand workforce costs
  • SaaS Vendor: ARR, Logos Sign, Retention, Churn, Customer Satisfaction
  • Professional Services: Utilisation, Employee Satisfaction, Customer Satisfaction

Enterprise Times: What does this mean

Although manual effort is required to update these KPIs, having a single location where they are available is very useful. The update follows on from the launch of Approval Workflow as AccountsIQ continues to invest in its platform.

This latest release is an indication of how finance functions are evolving. As strategic advisors to the CEO, having access to these KPIs from across the wider Business and tying them to the financial KPIs will enable them to better advise the other business leaders.
