It’s more than just putting random information on a mailer and sending it out in the hopes that it will attract new clientele. A lot of consideration has to go into the layout of the mailer to make sure it is as effective as it can be in attracting the attention of the reader and driving them to your store.
High quality images
The space on the laminated mailer is limited. You want to make sure that you are using the space as effectively as possible. Remember the saying: a picture is worth a thousand words. The image displayed on the mailer could help to convey the message to the client. Image and text work hand in hand. Make sure that the image supports and complements the text.
As previously mentioned, space is limited. While high resolution images help to convey your message and support text, keep in mind, that it is better to stick to one or two types of font. In addition, avoid large blocks of information. Stick to darker colors for text. You want your reader to be able to read the text easily.
Design and format
Creativity is key. Contrast elements such as large and small, light and dark colors, as well as opposite colors. Do not overload or overlap the images and text too much. The layout must be crisp, clean, and well spaced out. Other features that may help the mailer stand out is lamination, stamped foil and spot UV, or a matte finish.
