The British Columbia Destination Management Organization Association (BCDMOA) has unveiled its leadership lineup for the 2024-2025 term, introducing Colin Carson as the new Chair.

Colin Carson of Tourism Prince George will succeed Nancy Small of Tourism Richmond, who has helmed the organization as Chair for the past seven years. Nancy Small’s tenure was marked by significant contributions, including collaborations with key industry bodies such as the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, Culture and Sport, Destination BC, go2HR, BCHA, and TIABC. She also played a crucial role on the provincial Tourism Review Committee and Tourism Emergency Management Committee.

Colin Carson expressed his enthusiasm about his new role, saying, “Assuming the Chair position is both an honor and a significant responsibility. I am eager to guide our organization forward, building on our strategic objectives. My sincere thanks go to Nancy and the Board of Directors for their unwavering commitment and leadership, which have been instrumental in advancing the significance of local destination management organizations within British Columbia’s tourism economy.”

Nancy Small will transition to the role of Immediate Past Chair. The executive team also welcomes Kelley Glazer from Destination Osoyoos as Treasurer. The board expansion during the BCDMOA’s Annual General Meeting includes new and returning members: Gerardo Corro (Tourism New Westminster), Jikke Gyorki (Tourism Fernie), Ian Lobb (Tourism Oliver), and Lesley Weeks (Tourism Squamish) who enters her second term.

The board members for the new term are:

  • Colin Carson, Chair, Tourism Prince George
  • Kelley Glazer, Treasurer, Destination Osoyoos
  • Nancy Small, Past-Chair, Tourism Richmond
  • Additional board members include representatives from Tourism Chilliwack, Tourism New Westminster, Tourism Fernie, Tourism Oliver, Tourism Nanaimo, Tourism Burnaby, and Tourism Squamish.

Since its establishment in 2008, the BCDMOA has grown into a pivotal non-profit entity, advocating for over 50 community-based destination marketing and management organizations across the province. The association is recognized as an industry authority and oversees more than $100 million in strategic tourism marketing and management initiatives, representing a diverse array of communities varying in size and tourism scope.
